The term "completely open source" is potentially misleading since both Live2D and Bass (used by osu!framework as the audio backend) are not open source.

Keep in mind we're not using BassLib anywhere in the code (check for any references, despite our engine using BassLib we're not using it at all) - We're actively working on excluding bass in the framework level ( a requirement for osu!'s audio subsystem but not required for everyone)
There is no open source equivalent of Live2D's rendering at the moment.We would try to do a Spline-based shim over Live2D but we do not have the resources to do so.
