🌾 Red rye ale

📝 Red rye ale.

Label: RRA

⚖️ Ingredient (1 gallon)

🌾 Grains

  • 650 g Munich malt II
  • 200 g 2-row malt
  • 200 g toasted rye flakes

🌿 Hops

  • 6 g Northern Brewer
  • 6 g Centennial

🧫 Yeast

  • Escarpment Laboratories American Ale

🍃 Extra

📖 Recipe

🚰 Mash

  • Mash 4 L at 73 °C for 1 hour (it should stay at 67 °C)
  • Drain into mash tun
  • Add 4 L at 76 °C for 15 minutes into the mash
  • Drain into mash tun

⏱ Boil

  • Boil for 1 hour
  • At 0 minutes, add 6 g Saaz
  • At 55 minutes, add the lavender

⚗️ Fermentation

  • Cool down to 20 °C
  • Syphon into carboy
  • Add yeast and gently mix
