Description

• ink! seems to be perceived as niche and tied to legacy Polkadot smart-contract.
• ink! does not reflect its true potential: a modern, Rust-native, secure, and high-performance smart-contract framework.
• Developers outside the ecosystem don't associate ink! with Rust.

Without a refreshed identity and stronger developer-facing positioning, ink! risks stagnation despite being technically superior.

Proposed Rebranding (Phase 1)

• Change name - something closer to Rust Programs
• Choose a new slogan
• New logo
• New color palette
• Updated website + documentation styling

On what do you base these arguments? We are getting very good feedback from developers that are building with ink!. The pop cli is improving every day.

We either do a rebrand that costs money and time, or we focus on what is really important, creating a superior Rust smart contract language for Polkadot supported with amazing developer experience.

(new) Devs don't care and like ink!, ink! has a really unique brand and everywhere we make clear that it is Rust. The problem is the view Polkadot people have without even trying it. The people that do, they start to believe in ink! again.
