Feature Request: Verification Email not sent upon User Signup #661
Comments
We currently do have email sending features implemented via Sendgrid but the verification feature does not exist. We have not implemented it yet to reduce friction of creating new accounts initially. The current model we have is same as what reddit has, which allows users to remain anonymous to an extent. We can keep this open and revisit this I think. |
Alright, I will be waiting for any updates |
This task is reserved for Zubhub's core team to do. |
@Dumzy006 is this a designer issue? |
@Boluwatifey1 I don't think this is a design issue |
Okay thank you |
I’m still trying to find a design issue @Temabo |
@Boluwatifey1 go through the issues tagged "UX" on https://github.com/unstructuredstudio/zubhub/issues and make your contributions to them, you can drop your own ideas and possible solutions (either written or actual mockups). Alternatively you can also look through the zubhub website for design issues that are affecting the UX of the site and then create issues for them (if those issues do not exist already). Let me know if this is clear enough. |
Thank you very much for this,I will do just that |
@tuxology is it time to re-enable this? |
As a user, I recently signed up for the service but did not receive any verification email.
Therefore, I would like to request the addition of a new feature where an email is automatically sent to users upon successful registration.
Improved User Experience: By sending a verification email, users will have a better experience and will be able to use the service promptly. The verification email will ensure that their email address is valid and they can be contacted by the service.
Reduced Support Requests: Without a verification email, users may have difficulty in accessing the service, and this could lead to an increase in support requests. By sending a verification email.
Enhanced Security: Sending a verification email helps to ensure that the user is genuine and has access to the email account they have provided. This helps to reduce the risk of fraudulent or spam accounts being created on the service.
Compliance with Regulations: In some countries, it is a legal requirement to verify the email address of users. By implementing this feature, the service can comply with these regulations and avoid any legal issues.
also, we could also add a page that tells the user that a verification email has been sent to their email.
