Define and then document how to rollback an entire system. This probably requires the manual copying of /boot/* to some safe place on the btrfs filesystem before changes, and manual restore during rollback.

If I just do:

  • snapper rollback
  • and if I kept a copy of /boot/* and restored its content to the previous version, so we will run the same kernel version again

then:

  • root will be mounted from subvol .snapshots/XXX/snapshot (not ideal)
  • /var/log will be empty.
