I don't find where to define number of columns in customizer? Pls advise.

It's not currently possible.

I'm new at this, but couldn't you just go into the css, do the math for your pixel widths and change them?

The point is that it can't currently be done automatically. The LESS is currently hardcoded for 12 columns in several places. We do plan on fixing that though.
