I created a fix for this that will allow you to pull directly from a Github pages and have a default message as a fallback in case there is an issue. The font is marginally smaller, there is a CSS issue that I would need help in identifying but functionally this works and I have tested the failback and modified the pages text. There is a slight caching delay when you independently update the Github Pages and a forewarning, any stylistic markdown concepts like headers really magnify the font in just the message :)
