Despite M1 hitting EOL, many M1 shops have migrated to platforms such as openmage. Many of these platforms prefer third party modules installed through composer.

So here by a suggestion to implement the necessary composer configuration, to allow easy and correct installation, rather than suggesting users to install through Magento Connect.
