Mesh Point with TOP-GS07 RT5572 |
Dim Sum Labs (Hong Kong) |
3 |
2017-02-08 |
- Uses rt2800usb (no driver install step required on Raspbian)
- The version of rt2800usb must be recent, and we could not get this to work on a customized Debian with the drivers (could be our problem)
- Connected with each other with Mesh Point, and with the TL-WN722N & TL-WR703N, over 2.4 GHz (iperf3 tested between 5 to 45 Mbps, we are likely in a noisy environment)
- Connected with each other with Mesh Point, over 5 GHz (iperf3 tested 40 to 50 Mbps, much more reliable than the 2.4 GHz results)
- Played with Monitor mode packet captures and that worked
- The TOP-GS07 device consumes 1.0 to 1.5 W (one of the Raspberry Pi's with a 1 A power supply shut off after plugging this in, so make sure you use a proper supply)
- The external antenna is soldered on (we need a RP-SMA version of this)
The TOP-GS07 is a USB WiFi adapter with external antenna that supports Mesh Point over 2.4 and 5 GHz. The two devices under test are directly sourced from Toplinkst.
