Better email notification system

I really like the email notification system that notifies organizers when competitors register for a competition. However, this results in a lot of inbox spam. It is possible to turn off, but I like the idea of a notification.

So here is what I propose: Have some sort of scheduled task or cron job that checks during a certain interval, say, 1 hour, and instead of having individual emails, have an email that says something such as:

"The following list of competitors have registered.
(list of competitors)

You can approve or delete these registrations here (hyperlink to registration management page) "
