Is your feature request related to a problem?

sometimes one upload fails and you must restart from start, a good idea can be to automatically resume it

Describe the solution you'd like

automatically resume failed upload

Describe alternatives you've considered

allow user resume failed upload

Additional context

No response

also, if you upload 10 files and 1 fails and you miss it failed the whole upload will be stuck waiting to cancel the failed upload..

It is incredible that this basic and essential feature that was requested almost a thousand times, it still ignored after many years by the devs.

Do you really see normal that if you drop a bunch of files to Telegram client window, let's say that you drop ten files of 3,90 GB each one, that is, one multimedia post of ten files together, and if one of those files fails to upload, the program will not try to resume that file upload, and in fact you will not have the chance to retry that file upload and the program will be waiting for you to notice by yourself the failed upload and cancel that file upload in order to be able finally send / post / finish the other uploaded files in that media post, because if you don't cancel the single failed upload you will lose the post contining all the other successfully uploaded files?.

This is pathetic behavior and ridiculously outrageous and disappointing.

What paid chat client lacks something so basic and, in addition to lacking it, is so poorly designed as to cause problems with the loss of the rest of the files that were uploaded successfully?, only Telegram's garbage client.

I am not going to apologize for my way of speaking, because I consider this an insult from the developers towards all users with basic and essential needs expected in a software like this.

This software, Telegram, it was "made" / financed by millionarie brothers Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov, so if this basic automatic or just manually retry support for failed uploaded files - within the same post - is still missing, then that is a joke and an insult for everyone from these devs that probably get paid with a lot of money from ignoring to implement basic features.

Bye.

See, this thread was published three weeks ago from this comment, and still not a single answer from any dev.

There are only two explanations for this, either these developers are so mediocre and inept that they do not know how to implement it and they prefer to ignore this type of request again and again and again, or they simply work so little time and spend the day busying themselves with their hobbies and leisure that they have not yet read this request. In any case, this sloppiness says a lot about the kind of developers who are in charge of Telegram Desktop project.

And what about changing the icon color to RED for failed uploaded files in order to at least HELP IDENTIFY THOSE FILES THAT WERE FAILED?.

Even that, even changing the color to red, even that simple thing is missing from these developers.

@ElektroStudios no time, sorry 🤷

Yes please. I'm tired deleting a group of ten files just because one of them failed and have to reupload all of them again. Just an option to try again without losing the order in chat would be awesome.

also, one anoying problem of this, is that failed file doesn't warns there are 9 pending files to send to telegram and if you close telegram you will need to reupload the 10 files.

he said no time, mandatory new features takes a lot of time, maybe someone can create a pull request to at least warn you go to close telegram with pending to be send files when failed file is there.

Of course, he can also say that he is Batman. But hey, adding new emoji packs and other things doing dozens of changes to the UI just to attract customers to buy a subscription, they do it in less than one week.

So I insist, these developers does not care about implementing a basic feature and behavior which should have been present from the first release.

Just a suggestion: don't waste your time expecting it. Many years had been past. Right now or in 2 years, Telegram will still be a client that has one of the worst file upload mechanisms.
