What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?

Suggestions for usability improvements of date selection / input (e.g purchase date etc.):

Current Problems:

• unable to enter date as text!
• calendar widget height "jumping" -> not comfortable when switching multiple months
• calendar widget requires click on "Select" button instead of accepting click on the date
• no ability to adjust date format display

What is the solution you are proposing?

Implement according improvements to the date input widget / field.

Add an option to set date format, e.g. to American or European format (at best - to arbitrary format, using Y, M, D notation like in Linux date command).
