Description of the bug

I have the latest ST installed on Fedora 41 Linux (with Gnome interface) and there’s a problem with opening the File menu using Alt button. Something makes the menu close.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start ST
  2. With File menu hidden, press Alt
  3. Result: the File menu shows up and immediately disappears.

Expected behavior

File menu should not disappear on its own.

Actual behavior

File menu disappears.

We use GTK3 to draw menus, so this looks like a regression with the version shipped in fedora 41.

I am not sure what regression means in this context... Would it make sense for me to file a bug report to Gnome or Fedora makers?

It would certainly make sense, though it's still unclear where exactly the issue is. It could be GTK, gnome itself, or something else entirely. It'll take some effort to narrow it down.
