Topic & broker config when using MirrorMaker2

Hi, I'm using Mirrormaker2 and I am wondering if MirrorMaker mirrors topic settings or use target cluster's config.
Is topic's config(partitions, compression, retention setting etc.) same with source cluster's topic configs or target cluster's broker config?
Can I change topic config at MirrorMaker or target cluster's broker?

AFAIK it can be used to mirror some configurations. But not all of them. In particular IIRC for example the replication factor was not mirrored and instead used the default on the target side.

I got it. Then, how can I set custom config per topic at mirrorsource connector Strimzi Kafka chart??
(ex. topic 1 - compression.type = lz4, delete.retention.ms=1days // topic 2 - compression.type = none, delete.retention.ms=3days)
Is it possible at Strimzi Kafka MirrorMaker crd?

I do not think you can do this with Mirror Maker 1 or Mirror Maker 2 - even when you run them outside of Strimzi. But if you can, please share how would you do it and we can try to figure out how to do it using Strimzi.

Is it possible to configure compression.type for the entire target topic?

You can configure it on the target cluster directly of course. But I don't think Mirror Maker can do that - at least as far as I know.

This appears to be possible outside of Strimzi using an mm2.properties file to overwrite default settings. If mirrormaker is creating the destination topic, this would then (I assume) make it create it with specific settings. It's described here, but I have no idea exactly how (or if it's possible) to express these to Strimzi in an appropriate way.
