Does not work in Quarto .qmd files

Hi, I cannot get Rewrap to wrap the text in a .qmd Quarto file. I am using VS Code, have the extension enabled globally and use "editor.rulers": [80]. Wrapping text in .md files works as expected. Quarto uses Pandoc markdown syntax.

Are .qmd files not supported or is this a problem on my end? If not supported, is this planned? Thanks for your help!
