About stdlib...

We believe in a future in which the web is a preferred environment for numerical computation. To help realize this future, we've built stdlib. stdlib is a standard library, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computation, written in JavaScript (and C) for execution in browsers and in Node.js.

The library is fully decomposable, being architected in such a way that you can swap out and mix and match APIs and functionality to cater to your exact preferences and use cases.

When you use stdlib, you can be absolutely certain that you are using the most thorough, rigorous, well-written, studied, documented, tested, measured, and high-quality code out there.

To join us in bringing numerical computing to the web, get started by checking us out on GitHub, and please consider financially supporting stdlib. We greatly appreciate your continued support!

sincospi

NPM version Build Status Coverage Status

Simultaneously compute the sine and cosine of a number times π.

Usage

import sincospi from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/math-base-special-sincospi@esm/index.mjs';

You can also import the following named exports from the package:

import { assign } from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/math-base-special-sincospi@esm/index.mjs';

sincospi( x )

Simultaneously computes the sine and cosine of a number times π more accurately than sincos(pi*x), especially for large x.

var v = sincospi( 0.0 );
// returns [ 0.0, 1.0 ]

v = sincospi( 0.5 );
// returns [ 1.0, 0.0 ]

v = sincospi( 0.1 );
// returns [ ~0.309, ~0.951 ]

v = sincospi( NaN );
// returns [ NaN, NaN ]

sincospi( x, out, stride, offset )

Simultaneously computes the sine and cosine of a number times π more accurately than sincos(pi*x), especially for large x, and assigns results to a provided output array.

import Float64Array from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/array-float64@esm/index.mjs';

var out = new Float64Array( 2 );

var v = sincospi.assign( 0.0, out, 1, 0 );
// returns <Float64Array>[ 0.0, 1.0 ]

var bool = ( v === out );
// returns true

Examples

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<body>
<script type="module">

import linspace from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/array-base-linspace@esm/index.mjs';
import sincospi from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/math-base-special-sincospi@esm/index.mjs';

var x = linspace( 0.0, 2.0, 101 );

var i;
for ( i = 0; i < x.length; i++ ) {
    console.log( sincospi( x[ i ] ) );
}

</script>

Notice

This package is part of stdlib, a standard library with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
