What Are the Planned Breaking Changes for @casl/angular@10?

Hi team,

I’m currently using @casl/angular, and I want to ensure that our application is prepared for any upcoming breaking changes in version 10 and beyond. As of now, I couldn’t find any documented plans for what might change in the next major release, is there any Discussion/board where I can find this info?

Could you please provide insights into:

• Any planned breaking changes for @casl/angular@10?
• Deprecations or major API modifications?
• Expected release timeline (if known)?
• Having this information in advance will help us and other consumers of this package plan for a smooth upgrade 🚀

Hi,

there are no plans in terms of new features. It mostly driven by angular changes now. Potentially there may be added signal driven version of AbilityService and pipes very likely will be removed as they are not reliable and complex for use

Right now, they are deprecated. And there are no plans to remove them at least for now since they are standalone and can be tree shaked out

hey, thanks for the response. Just to clarify the AbilityModule, able and ablePure pipes will not be removed anytime soon or do you have the removal in your timelines?

Hey @stalniy , I recently saw @casl/[email protected] is published which supports Angular 20. Do you have any plans to publish new major version of @casl/angular@10?

hey, I will consider removing pipes when I will need to make a breaking change release for @casl/angular . I think there is no point to use AbilityModule, it was drop some time ago

the release cycle mostly driven by angular updates. right now there is no need to change anything. Potentially with @casl/ability@v7 but there is no particular dates
