Alt-text displays following the same width as the image it's attached to, which leads to cumbersome text blocks like this:
Additionally, alt-text sometimes gets cut off in the beginning when viewing an image. There is also no way to "dismiss" or "minimize" the display of alt-text, so on larger text blocks or taller images it heavily detracts from viewing art images properly:

Alt-text font is also inaccessibly small, with no way to increase the size.

here is another example; the alt-text is actually covering the bottom of the image so that neither the first line of alt nor the text at the bottom of the image are readable.
this all could be fixed by having the alt-text fill the width of the screen and not just match the width of the image.
