There have been lots of threads lately about SpringMVC and aspects not working. This is typically an issue of internal calls and the nature of dynamic proxies. People still seem to be confused and keep asking the same question. It would be nice if this could be clarified in the SpringMVC documentation. A backpointer to the "Understanding AOP proxies" chapter might be useful.

Done in 2.0.3. Added a reference to Understanding AOP proxies in the sidebar that explain the open for extension closed for modifications part.
