πŸ‘‹ hello world, I'm david β€” a caffeine-addicted (pour-over death wish only, please ☠️) software/devops nerd. I started my career in cybersecurity πŸ”’, and have built tools, SaaS products, web applications, and provided infrastructure/DevOps consulting for startups and large organizations.

I'm particularly super interested in building tools to improve developer experience, and have a lot of projects and ideas for FOSS services/tooling (especially in the Python 🐍 ecosystem, but also stack/language agnostic) lying around in my Obsidian notes πŸ“, haunting me on a daily basis.

πŸ–€ support my work (if you'd like)

a while back I built python-hyperscan, a Python C extension library providing an interface to Hyperscan, which at the time did not have official or unofficial bindings for many other scripting languages. (Hyperscan is/was an open source high performance, parallel regex matching library, now owned by Intel, with a popular community fork Vectorscan - both libraries are used by a lot of security and networking tooling for deep packet inspection, among other use cases)

while life has thrown some curveballs at me recently, I would love to be able to spend more time addressing features that the community has asked for, provide more support, and/or fast track specific asks from multiple orgs that are using python-hyperscan in production. if you find the library useful, and would like to contribute financially, I would be super grateful! also even if not, and you'd just like to connect, I'd love to sync up with likeminded folks, especially if our interests align and you like building stuff. πŸš€

@darvid

should cover most of the CI usage for python-hyperscan - in order to provide the community with wheels supporting every major architecture and platform, I use paid GitHub runners which run a few dollars a month. nothing breaking the bank, but if you or your organization use python-hyperscan and can spare the change, it would be appreciated to keep the lights on. πŸŒ›
