LightBDD is an open-source project that is developed since 2013 with an aim to provide an ability to write behavioural tests in easy to maintain way while providing rich reporting capabilities.

I started this project when I worked as developer in one of the engineering teams where we wanted to use BDD style tests to ensure high quality of our project while making tests closely reflecting the business requirements provided by Product Owners / Business Analysts. At that time we used other present solutions but as a team we found them difficult to maintain / refactor from the development perspective.
To overcome that problem I built LightBDD with goal to keep the balance between easy maintainability of the tests to allow adapting them to changing requirements and readability of their execution outcome to be easily consumable by business and owning teams.

As an owner of LightBDD I found it bringing value to organisations I worked and implemented it since then. I am hoping the community that uses it at their projects and larger organisations founds it equally useful.

Over these years my role and focus in worked organisations have significantly changed which means that I have less personal time to work on the project. Having said that LightBDD is the project that is closest to my heart and gives me lots of satisfaction seeing the positive impact on the teams using it.
