Sparkle 2.6 has been released.
It includes changes to the Downloader XPC Service for sandboxed applications that use this service. In particular, this service is now not sandboxed by default to prevent warnings new to macOS Sonoma for multiple apps that use the service. For more details, see #2507 it fixes and the updated sandboxing documentation.
Note: This only affects apps that opted into using the Downloader XPC Service. If your app is not sandboxed, please do not enable the XPC Services. If your app is sandboxed and the app already has the
com.apple.security.network.cliententitlement, please do not enable the Downloader XPC Service!--
This release also performs a Gatekeeper scan on the update for users running macOS 14.4 or later.
Lastly there are also improvements/changes to how new signing keys are generated to improve compatibility with other cryptography libraries.
