lesson 6 hardhat-gas-reporter doesn't get eth price

hardhat.config is like this

  gasReporter: {
    enabled: true,
    outputFile: "gas-reporter.txt",
    noColors: true,
    currency: "USD",
    coinmarketcap: COINMARKETCAP_API_KEY,
  },

and em using the free coinmarketcap api key,
howerver, when i run hardhat test, the reporter doesn't show up usd cost

and when i check on the coinmarketcap to see api call usage, it ends up empty,
seems like the api call failed.
dose anyone have this kind of issue? is it a network problem?

@Dos-leg Are you using the updated version of Hardhat? The updated version uses the hardhat-toolbox plugin instead of the hardhat-waffle. Maybe be due to the outdated version causing this issue.

Hey, I may be a little late but I have found a solution to the problem.

First of all, I have updated hardhat-gas-reporter to the latest version, in this case 2.2.2. And seeing documentation in this new version you have to specify the chain layer and add the API key of Etherscan.

This is how the code would look like:

gasReporter: {
    enabled: true,
    outputFile: 'gas-report.txt',
    noColors: true,
    currency: 'USD',
    coinmarketcap: COINMARKETCAP_API_KEY,
    L1Etherscan: ETHERSCAN_API_KEY,
    L1: 'ethereum', // L1 chain (default is ethereum)
  }

You can also change the price from Ethereum to Polygon, for example, by replacing the Etherscan API key with the Polygonscan API key and changing L1: 'ethereum' to L1: 'polygon'.
