Chrome version saving to /Downloads/undefined #44

Forgive me I mean uget was toggled ON. The more I think about it , this might not be your issue?? It is doing it toggled on or off. Also on firefox on some files I get an '_' at the start and end of file names once sent to uget. _ _ filename.ext _ _ and also they are tagged with __D__Downloads__filename.ext sometimes. It goes to the normal dialog (and looks normal there) then fails to download (popup notification, good) and is passed to uget where it is tagged like above. I use Grab Any Media so once again I am not blaming your extension but maybe a combo of the two or something. I can live with it because it works but i figured I better post it as someone smarter than I might have an idea. |
Lastly can uget support blob? |
Hi,
Could you please uninstall the extension and try to save the file. Because uGet extension does not modify the filename in default browser download.
It should have the extension. I will test it on my Windows VM and let you know.
The extension replaces some special characters by
Again if possible please share the link so that I can test it and figure out the problem. Sometimes uGet does not download some streaming files. That can be a problem. Thanks |
I will make that a priority. Thanks for answering. |
OK here is one example. Firefox developers - windows 10 - Wrapper 2.0.6 uget 2.1.6. I went to site https://chrome-extension-downloader.com/ and put in Tamper beta's url of https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey-beta/gcalenpjmijncebpfijmoaglllgpjagf?hl=en-US Uget integration of 2.1.0 on and blank except for a file size of 100. Thank you man. |
Ok Update it did it at that site 3 times in a row. downloading Tampermonkey . stylus and stylish. it did the same thing on all three |
Thanks for the update. It occurs on my Linux machine with FF as well. Will fix soon. |
Thank you Gobinath. |
Fixed the Also, thank you for introducing Grab Any Media addon I am thinking about integrating it with uGet integration addon. |
Your welcome but really thank YOU for all this work Adding the GAM would be nice as he is not too inclined to make some changes that would make it better with your extension. And it would be cool because i use both all the time :) Oh AND I love this regex and well hell everything you've done. Some really great, useful work. Thank you. |
Could you please elaborate more on the undefined issue. Here is my interpretation: "When you turn off the uGet Integration extension and downloads something form Chrome, it is saved with a file name If so, could you please uninstall the extension and save the file and see whether this happens. It would be helpful if you can share the link for testing purposes. Thanks |
I will do that Yes. But to be more clear they (Chrome) save in a folder called "undefined" It creates that folder and saves all files that i download to "." on the menu which is /home/dana/Downloads or d:\Downloads. Both linux and windows does it, only on Chrome. Could be me I will do as you suggested. |
So Chrome saves to Downloads/undefined is what I mean. I am used to it so I was letting it wait to see if it was something I am doing but I have not figured it out yet. |
It is something to do with save in for sure. If it is removed it does not do it and if it is installed but disabled it does not do it but as soon as I enable it it once again does it. I redid ALL the settings looking for mistakes and even invisible chars. in my text but nothing wrong or found and it still does it. ONLY on the period. I have like 12-15 folders defined and all the rest do perfect. |
I just noticed up there i once again included uget info. I took it out . I don't know why I cant stop doing that lol sorry. |
I am not exactly sure when it started because I use FF the most but while working with chrome Dev version 64.0.3269.3 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) I had the uget toggled off to save the internal backups from Stylus and Tamper and it kept saving to /Downloads/undefined .
I checked the setting for download folder (correct), the settings for the extension on the tool bar (it was off while i downloaded) and the folder def's I have defined in the extension settings themselves
I am up to date on everything and it happens on both machines Windows 10 and Arch only in Chrome. It works normally in Firefox.
I also noticed an issue in windows as I checked for problems. When I upgraded from Wrapper 205 to 206 it seems that there might be an issue. AFTER upgrading In the install directory the 206 version of the .py file did not get an extension. That may be the way it should be but it seemed unlikely See below and I hope that explains it.
