Bug Description

I was recording a voice message and at the 5 minute mark it just stopped recording and deleted my message. I just lost a complete recording and cant remember the majority of what i said. This is so annoying, ill never get back all the info i was trying to send to my friend

Steps to Reproduce

Record a five minute or longer audio log/voice message without moving the mouse or touching the keyboard. All i did was hit record and keep speaking.

Actual Result:

Recording automatically ended and completely deleted and lost my voice recording.

Expected Result:

Continued recording the entire message until i hit send

I think if they really want a limit for 5 min, it should at least send the message at 5 min and then start recording a new one right after.

Seriously. I cannot believe it literally just erased what i was saying because i was speaking for longer than 5 minutes. There was so much information i was trying to convey which just got poofed for no discernable reason

A recent change adds a popup dialog when you hit the limit, allowing you to send what we had already captured: 2138395

How come Signal desktop has this limitation but iOS doesnt? Doesn't the desktop app just connect to the iOS app anyway?
