e.g. how when we talk about .tar within Archives, that's not data compression, and how they are orthogonal, and can be done either in sequence or at the same time when streaming, but is left up to the user and SigMF standard doesnt prescribe how to do the data compression. can also point out that many rf recordings wont compress down much.

Yea we discussed previously that compression should be outside the sigmf container e.g. logo.sigmf can be logo.sigmf.gz or logo.sigmf.bz2 transparently.
