Bug Description
Hello,
I noticed an issue where all my entries from last week were removed and replaced with updates from the current week. This has caused a loss of critical data and disrupted my tracking.
What Happened:
Last week, I updated my Jira tasks and logged my work regularly.
This week, I noticed that all my previous entries from last week were no longer present.
Instead, the updates from the current week seem to have overwritten the last week's data.
This issue has caused the following problems:
Inability to provide accurate reports or track progress.
Request:
Share any guidance on preventing such issues in the future.
Hi @Srustith123, thank you for reaching out regarding your issue with Jira Assistant. It sounds like you are experiencing a significant problem where entries from last week have been overwritten by this week's updates.
Replacing the last week data is not something which could happen if you have already uploaded the worklog to Jira. After adding worklogs in JA, have you uploaded it to Jira? If you have uploaded it, then there is no chance of missing something.
The worklog you create in Jira Assistant tool has to be uploaded to Jira after everything looks good. If you haven't uploaded it, then it would be gone due to cache reset. So ensure to upload your worklog after you created it. There is a settings to automatically upload the worklog upon creation. You can also enable it from General Settings page if it is not already enabled. This would prevent the issue in some cases.
After adding your worklog last week, have you ever validated the data in Jira (not JA) to see if your worklogs are uploaded to Jira Correctly?
If you have seen the worklogs earlier in Jira last week, then have you checked it now again within Jira to see if it is not there anymore?
If the worklog is available in Jira still but is not displayed in JA, then its just an issue with indexing which would be resolved soon after re indexing of Jira.
If the worklog has ever got uploaded, then you can see the history in Jira ticket itself which will contain the history of how many worklogs were added along with the time. This can never be removed. Similarly if the worklog is deleted either by you are by someone else, then that too would be stored in history. You can track what has happened from the history of the ticket.
If you don't see any worklog and anything in history, then that means you have never uploaded the worklogs and in such case it is a manual error and you will have to understand how JA works before continuing to use it.
