I am using pandoc with pandoc-crossref filter.

After updated to the newest version, the above has rendering issue.

It seems that the "{}" bracket in the inline math $^{-3}$ is causing the problem.

The newly added syntax seems causing this problem. How to disable it for pandoc parser?
