There are two issues:

  • Catchup writer does not receive disconnect events
  • Catchup writer does not know if a message was received

This may be problematic when a node connects, starts receiving database catchup, disconnects and connects again. This may result inconsistent database.

The solution would be if the sent packets would be acknowledged.
