Detailed Description

Display planes in 3D viewport is a boolean toggle at the moment. We could turn this into a tri-state: Data, Wireframe or None. The latter would be new and would fully hide the 3D representation of the planes.

Context

For mesh rendering, it would be useful to be able to hide the planes altogether.

Related: it would also be terrific if I could disable the rendering of the dataset bbox.
