Ctrl+Alt+H is working on Win7 but not Win10, but I doubt that OS is a primary factor. I've read reports about this problem but don't remember the solution and can't find the old reference.

Is this a known issue or should I try to track down the glitch? How do I fix it?
Can anything be done to improve the stability of this tool? I've had past issues.

I'm not aware of the issue. Can you provide repro steps?

Baffled. I've been trying to fix the issue on my primary PC rather than repro on Win7.

  • IDE support is confirmed by the hints to the left of the info bar.
  • Reset settings.ini
  • Admin mode makes no difference.
  • Various compatibility modes don't help.
  • The same issue is present in v3.3.3, v3.2.2 and v3.04 on this machine.
  • If I select the text and try to convert a little "thinking" wheel briefly appears.

Can you offer any hints about what I can try? Missing dependencies, maybe? Old registry?

Tried on Win 10, works fine. The primary factor for conversion a number to the model name would be that Sanny should know the game folder and load IDE files. When I set GTA 3 directory in Sanny's option, I can convert 100 to #MANANA using Ctrl+Alt+H.

This one might need to remain an open issue until more data is available. I'm pretty sure that Ctrl-Alt-H has never worked properly on this computer, a 2nd hand system with Win7 and updated to Win10. AMD 64bit, just like my Win7 machine that is working fine.

This computer has a variety of issues but it's the best I've got. I could try uninstalling unneeded apps and services if I had a clue of what to look for. Something messing with the clipboard, maybe? But I'm worried that if I change too much I'll never get it working again.

The conversion tool can be remapped in the Options->Hotkeys. Try with a different combo.

Bingo!

Ctrl+Alt+\ works, Ctrl+Alt+H does not. Go figure.

Also, the Convert model name and Convert number hotkeys appear to have the wrong descriptions in the Options tool.

Ctrl+Alt+H might have a global binding in the another process that prevents it from running in Sanny.

Description was swapped for Model/Number conversion. Please reopen if the issue still persists.

Trying to reopen the issue...

The problem came back, with the new installation - this time on my Win7 machine. I finally got it working again but had to find a key combo that I hadn't used before.

Can the hotkey combos from previous installations be lurking in the File Manager... Or was it Explorer, not sure. But when I had the issue before I ran a tracer on the combo and it led to a core Windows component. Maybe something is stuck in the registry; been a while since I've dug through that.

Before I installed SB351 I made a copy of the entire folder, and then used Sanny's uninstall routine before updating. I probably followed a similar procedure on the other machine before installing SB333.

@OrionSR so you can use the feature when you re-map the key combo to something different? I'm not aware of any global things that could intercept Ctrl+H, Ctrl+Alt+H keys, in fact I have used both on different machines (Win7, Win1) without issues.

I will leave this ticket open just in case someone else have the same problem.
