LICENSE and LICENSE.txt contain GPLv2 and GPLv3 respectively

Is that by design? I am a bit surprised to find the GPLv2 in this repo when the homepage only states the GPLv3 as license.

I also expect that the multiple (conflicting) license files may confuse some less sophisticate license detection tools - and I wonder if the licensing could be simplified and made consistent with the website by removing the GPLv2 license file.
