      <h1 id="page-title">AIRCRAFT HANGARS</h1>
      <p>The principal use of gas-fired infrared heaters is to efficiently heat commercial and industrial buildings or to spot heat the people within them. Heating an overall area with gas infrared heaters is particularly suited for buildings with large air volumes or high rates of air movement, where convection (air heating) methods are grossly ineffective.</p>
      <p>In buildings such as aircraft hangars, the difficulties in convection heating become readily apparent. By contrast, a well designed system using gas fired infrared heaters creates a high degree of fuel utilization efficiency since it heats objects and people directly. Heating the total mass of air volume in the space is not necessary.</p>

      <p><strong>Equipment Selection:</strong> High BTU tube heaters and/or high intensity infrared models are preferred for high-mount locations like aircraft hangars. Two-stage infrared heaters are highly recommended. They recover heat lost through large doors, yet they cycle less frequently during normal operation.</p>
      <p><strong>Hangar Door Installation:</strong> Most of the heat should be concentrated near the main door by locating burner boxes or additional heaters at this point. It is important to note that ANSI/NFPA 409 calls for the heater to be installed at least 10 feet above the highest wing surface of any aircraft stored inside.</p>
