Ah sorry I should have updated, it is in here https://github.com/ropensci/googleLanguageR/blob/master/R/auth.R but I think it wasn't working when I last tried alone with just https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-language set in here https://github.com/ropensci/googleLanguageR/blob/master/R/options.R but perhaps just need to test it again.

The motive is that the broader https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform gives access to all services and its just a good idea to restrict the API calls to just the scopes they directly need.
