I went through the setup process and have my Amazon account (which is my Audible account) in there. I enter my password when prompted. Then nothing happens. No error message and no books are scanned.

Same. It was working a month ago, and then stopped. I re-entered my account credentials for audible. The interface says "scanning," but no book titles appear in the list. Eventually, I see a "not responding" at the Libation title bar, and have to force quit the application.
