I was trying the following configuration

[menu]
 [[menu.main]]
  identifier = "manager"
  name       = "Manager"
  hasChildren = true

 [[menu.main]]
  parent = "manager"
  name = "reportee"
  identifier = "reportee"

no, sub menus aren't supported right now. :)
