I tested the behavior in vanilla, and magic coat only blocks the first growl, so magic coat's double battle behavior needs testing in gen 7+ to confirm if this issue should be closed or not
Magic Coat is getting 'removed' after it blocks one move, so the user can be targeted with status moves by a different battler.
This is theoretically caused by
bounceMove
being reset inCmd_attackcanceler
