Perhaps a mention in this episode (or another episode?) of things that should not be in an RFC? Confession: I ran and made an RFC after being inspired by Episode 3 😄 , but I don't think it will go anywhere - which is fine, but raises the question of what belongs in the core language and std. (for reference, rust-lang/rfcs#2082)

Oh wow I didn't know RFE inspired you to write that RFC, stephan!! That's awesome :)

I don't know definitively that we can always say X is a good topic for an RFC and Y isn't; sometimes it depends :) We can recommend starting with a pre-RFC on internals; I've seen folks get good feedback there on a general idea (both "yes this would be useful as an RFC" and "no this probably wouldn't be a great RFC because reasons") before spending the time writing out a full RFC. We'll be sure to mention that on the show! Thank you for the prompt! :)

@Manishearth what do you think about the idea to do this at rustconf so that we could maybe get @withoutboats on, rather than next week?

We ended up not doing this at the conf bc the conf was too awesome.

@aturon @withoutboats got any time you want to do this, this week or the next?
