I would like to use RedPen without Java installation. For the purpose I think jlink and javapackager generate executable files which do not need Java runtime environments.

It's better migrating to Java 9 first. Because javapackager can take advantage of Java 9's module system and reduce the output file size.

Thanks for the advice! We already made the issue for the migration, #796. We should focus on migration to Java 9 immediately after a current major issue, #794.
