Moving from PHP 5.6 to 8.1

Hi, this is my first time here, so sorry if I did some mistake.

I tried to configure rector.php in order to upgrade my (or what I inherit) project from the old php 5.6 to 8.1. It's a HUUUUUGE mess so an automatic upgrade tool seems wonderful to me.
I looked for some tutorial but I was unable to find something complete.
I started with this:

we'll need a reproducible repository to find out what is wrong there. The smaller files and rules, the better 👍

Ok, seems like I understood the errors, but still I cannot find the right combinations of rules in order to convert the whole site from PHP 5.6 to PHP 8.1.
In effect if I run the "vendor/bin/rector process src --dry-run" a lot of "mysql_query" still remains, without converting to mysqli syntax

That could be wrong setup, complex autoload issue etc.

We'll need a reproducible repository to be able to help.
