Similar issue: #1303

Steps to reproduce

(Guidelines for creating a bug report are available here)

following steps in get-started.md from 1-7

Expected behavior

Greeting: Hello from react-rails. (rendered in HTML)

Actual behavior

Screenshot 2023-12-24 at 8 02 51 AM
NameError in Articles#index
Showing /Users/andrewnjoo/Desktop/react-rails/app/views/articles/index.html.erb where line #3 raised:

uninitialized constant React::Rails::ComponentMount::Dummy

System configuration

  • Shakapacker or Sprockets version:
  • React-Rails version: 3.1.0
  • Rect_UJS version:
  • Rails version: 7.1.2
  • Ruby version: 3.2.2 [arm64-darwin22]

get started docs recommends running bundle add 'react-rails' --strict, which installs 3.1.0.

Is it possible to append e.g. --version '3.1.1' so that bundler installs the working version?

"dummy" in the error sounds like the https://github.com/reactjs/react-rails/tree/master/test/dummy repo.
