Events without a regional leader get stuck in approval limbo #619

In November, we were contacted by an organizer from Tulsa, Oklahoma about a pending event that sat in "approval limbo". Now in February, the same organizer had an issue getting their event approved. We would like to lower the friction to getting these events posted on the Bridge Troll website so that we can help these organizers promote and get attendees to their events.

This issue seems to stem from a lack of regional leaders who can approve these events and relies on RailsBridge board members to be the sole owners of being able to approve.

Proposed Fixes (looking for more input)

  1. More people for approvals. Who has the permission to approve events?

  2. Add a list of people to the draft page that an organizer can "ping" in case their event is not approved in 1-2 days

  3. Email the approvers again if the event has been in "pending" for more than 2 days.

  4. Create a triage, if the first level of approvers doesn't respond, can it move on to another set of approvers?
