Sliding Window Mode (Andy Matuschak's Notes Style) #21
Comments
Hello, Thanks for the input, but I am not sure how that would fit in with the existing design. The content in simply-jekyll is designed to be at the center of the window, but a sliding window would require that we somehow accommodate additional content frames without affecting the aesthetics. It works in Andy's case because his content frame#1 starts at the left-most part of the window, and it also seems like it was a design decision that was made from the beginning. Do let me know if you have any ideas around making it work without completely overhauling the existing look and feel. |
I am not an HTML / CSS expert. Many times you need the context and having them both side by side can have amazing effect (Think of reading a math proof and seeing the lemma to the right). What do you think? |
I'd also love to see Sliding Window Mode and I would use this feature even If I had to sacrifice Sidenotes and Marginnotes (which in my opinion are distractions). |
Sorry for the late reply, got caught up with work stuff. Btw, I too am not a html/css expert by any means, just created it so that I could write blog posts😅. As for the implementation, I don't think it should be really that difficult. My original concern in the previous comment was more about how, and whether, it would fit in with the existing look and feel of the website. I'll try to implement it; if it fits in well I will add it to the main branch, otherwise, I'll try to create a branch for you and put it there so that you can tinker with it and tailor it to your liking. |
Hey, if it is just Andy Matuschak style website that you are looking for, you could give this Gastby Digital Garden a try. |
Could you please add an option for Sliding Window Mode (Andy Matuschak's Notes Style).
Even if only a single view on the right would be perfect.
