strange character encoding when copy/pasting

Expected behavior

Copy + paste works normally

Actual behavior

Copying text from the main window and pasting into the 'message' box triggers some strange character encoding issue. Pasting into an external application works ok. Demonstration in screen capture below:

Steps to reproduce

1. Copy some text form the main window
2. Paste it into the 'message' box

It has been some time since I've been able to use Scudcloud due to #594 but I'm fairly sure this wasn't happening when I was last able to use scudcloud successfully. If you need any extra info on my setup to help diagnose, let me know. Thanks

More info on it: if I copy from other program and paste on Slack, it works. If I copy from Slack and paste in other program, it works.

I.e., the problem appears to be copy from scudcloud and paste into scudcloud.
