Remove `xbacklight` dependence #1

functions.sh currently uses xbacklight to set backlight brightness. This is undesirable because

adds unnecessary dependence on X11
xbacklight causes mouse lag when it runs

Solution is to use sysfs backlight api (will require adding user to video group and creating a udev rule).
