Border between pages in the two pages view

Problem

When I open a book in pdf i see a space between two pages. How to remove that space and get that back as before?

Steps to reproduce

Open pdf with many pages. Press 'd' to display two pages side by side. Results: space between pages.

Same on mupdf backend.

Expected behavior

No space between pages.

Does :set page-padding 1 fix the padding? If so, check your zathurarc for that command and remove it to go back to the default of 1.

No, I've opened a pdf in Zathura. Then I typped :set page-padding 1. It didn't work.

ah I see what's happened. The last page of that pdf is slightly larger than all others. The grid for pages allocates the same size box to all pages, the maximum page size.

In this case removing the last page is the simplest solution for now.
I'll look at different page sizes but its not a small change.

Oh, I see. That's correct. The book, Michael Feathers - Working Effectively with Legacy Code-Prentice Hall (2004), has this extra width. Perhaps, Zathura can make a view (show only specific pages)? This is not critical at all for me, just for convenience.
