I have flashed a CGG1 to v3.6 firmware with TelinkFlasher, everything went fine. I used this device with original firmware for at least half year, so I pretty much used to it, and I have noticed a few things with the custom firmware:

  1. Screen sometimes completely redrawn which makes it flashing. I don't remember seeing this with original firmware. (happens more than twice/day)
  2. Battery indicator drops from 5 sticks to 4 sticks, then it goes back to 5. Also happens usually (more than once/day), also don't remember seeing from original firmware (although it's possible that my battery is started to be discharging, but still, once indicator goes to 4sticks, it shall never go back to 5).

As for battery, I have found a related issue: #180

But it dates back to before version3.6.

Thank you!

  1. You must find out how the E-ink display works and why the complete refresh (recharge) of the segments is used. E-Ink on CGG1 is 'refresh' after 32 image changes. A reduction in the number of complete 'refresh' will lead to the degradation of the screen per year. There will be a gray and non -contrition screen.
  2. The current version shows the real voltage of the battery.
