The project still has backers.
The project has over 600k users.

What's the plan guys?
At least inform your user base if this has been abandoned by updating the README

My opinion on this project is not optimistic, perhaps some migration should be done

It would be good with a status and otherwise an open call for new contributors. Pug is a solid way to write html on the server but it's also a bit behind the times and it would be good with a rewrite with a focus on type safety in templates and maybe a concept for a virtual dom for the frontend.
