Not able to download using 4.1.2

Since v4 and beyond rolled out, I've been unable to successfully download any files in Edge or Firefox. The download progress bar goes to 100, the file appears to concatenate based on disk activity, but then no download is stored in my computer anywhere that I can find. Even using the manual download button, the same thing happens. A period of high disk usage and then no file is produced at the end.
