Query time series data from a Prometheus server

Hi Y'all,

I know that there is a Go client that allows you to use it in Go applications to query time series data from a Prometheus server. However, I am working on a Python application and would want to achieve something similar can someone help me out here on how to go about it or point me to the right resources? Or am I right to believe that Prometheus HTTP API is the only way to query the required metrics from a Python application as of now?
